An altered reality

Are we alone in the universe? This question has been around for a long time and as we explore more and more of the infinite universe; we find unknown elements that suggest that there might be other civilizations in existence but those are mere speculations until we encounter hard evidence or the aliens themselves.

A subgenre of fiction known as “Space Opera” gave rise to popular media that brought about popularity to the whole idea of the presence of alien life forms, even though the notion has been around for a long time but the movies of this subgenre provide us with the insights into the alternatives and implications that the existence of alien life might bring on us like space wars and intergalactic organizations.

Another idea that found much traction was that aliens exist in the universe but we humans are not aware of their existence as they hide from us, the reasons for this secrecy could range from being technologically advanced/backward, preservation of civilization or even an ongoing intergalactic war that has led to the aliens disregarding us in favor of more pressing matters.

Well, what if we are living in the matrix? What if the beings exist in a higher dimension or realities not comprehendible to us? What if oxygen is just a mass hallucination drug to prevent us from seeing the aliens that control us?

The deeper you dive into the world of conspiracy theory, the weirder the question gets and the more exceedingly plausible the theories seem.

Yes, it is highly possible, we might exist in a “Space Opera” and there are aliens all around us, and because of some unfortunate or fortunate circumstances, we are unaware of their presence.

It’s also possible, tomorrow we might wake up to find Jedi masters holding a meeting with our presidents or the predators have wiped out half the population, or humans have finally qualified to enlist in the Starfleet (Those ideas could have been an insight into a reality we aren't aware of.)

But until it happens, we just grab the bits and pieces that the universe throws at us and try to make sense of it.

It would be highly foolish to think of humans as the center of the universe and the inhabitants of the earth as the only life forms in existence.

Well, maybe the aliens are expecting for us to find them too.
